Biography:

Julian DM Lew KC is a leading international arbitrator with over four decades of experience in international commercial and investment arbitration. A full-time arbitrator and Professor of International Arbitration at Queen Mary University of London, he has served as sole, presiding, and co-arbitrator under ICC, LCIA, ICSID, SIAC, HKIAC, UNCITRAL, and numerous other institutional rules. His expertise spans complex disputes in energy, infrastructure, intellectual property, banking and finance, and international investment.

Before dedicating himself fully to arbitration, Julian was a partner and head of the international arbitration practice at Herbert Smith. He holds a Doctorat spécial en droit international from the Catholic University of Louvain and an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of London. He is a dual national of the UK and Israel and has been recognized as a top-tier arbitrator by Chambers UK and The Legal 500. His leadership roles have included serving on the ICC International Court of Arbitration, the LCIA Court, and numerous other global arbitration panels.
