Ian A. Laird is Co-Chair of Crowell & Moring’s International Dispute Resolution Group and a seasoned arbitration lawyer with over 25 years of experience. He represents Fortune 500 companies and sovereigns in politically sensitive commercial and investor-state disputes across the globe. With deep expertise in energy, natural resources, and cross-border treaty arbitration, Ian also serves regularly as arbitrator. A former Canadian government official, he brings unique insight into how politics impacts international disputes. He is licensed in Ontario (Canada) and as a Special Legal Consultant in Washington, D.C., and is widely recognized in Chambers Global, Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal.
