Biography:

Dr. Roy Schöndorf is a partner and Head of International Dispute Resolution at Herzog. He represents clients in high-stakes international arbitrations and complex cross-border litigation, and frequently serves as arbitrator in both domestic and international proceedings. Roy also advises clients on crisis management involving governments or regulatory bodies. From 2013 to 2022, he served as Israel’s Deputy Attorney General (International Law), where he led the government’s legal strategy on international matters, including the Abraham Accords, the Lebanon maritime agreement, and proceedings before the ICC and ICJ.

Prior to his public service, Roy practiced at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York, focusing on energy, infrastructure, and joint venture disputes. He lectures at leading Israeli universities, and in 2024 was appointed to the ICC Court of Arbitration. He is consistently ranked among Israel’s leading arbitration experts by Legal 500 and Lexology.
