Biography:

Dr. Roy Sheindorf is the head of the International Arbitration Department at the law firm Herzog Fox & Neeman. Dr. Sheindorf represents clients in international arbitration proceedings and also acts as an arbitrator in local and international arbitrations.

In addition to his work in the field of litigation, Dr. Sheindorf accompanies clients in handling complex crises, especially those involving government or law enforcement agencies in Israel and abroad.

Dr. Sheindorf served as Deputy Attorney General and he dealt with the legal aspects of the most complex and sensitive matters of the State of Israel, including, inter alia, proceedings in international courts, the agreement on the maritime border with Lebanon, the Abraham Accords, international courts and more.

Experience:

At the beginning of his career, Dr. Sheindorf served in the international law department in the military prosecutor’s office, where he served for approx. 7 years and participated in negotiations with Syria and the Palestinians, and he also wrote an opinion on targeted killings.

At the end of his service, he began his doctoral thesis in the United States and then he worked at a leading law firm in the field of international arbitration in New York (Debevoise & Plimpton LLP) where he represented countries and large corporations in complex international arbitrations.

After returning to Israel, Dr. Sheindorf served for approx. 9 years as the Deputy Attorney General and he handled the international legal proceedings in which the State of Israel was involved in international tribunals as well as handling sensitive international arbitration proceedings, on behalf of the State, concerning economic-commercial matters.

In February 2022, he was chosen by a public committee headed by the former President of the Supreme Court of Israel, Asher Grunis, as one of three recommended candidates for the position of Attorney General.

Dr. Sheindorf lectured at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University and Reichman University and he published professional articles in various journals.
