After a 25-year tenure as a judge, Dr. Avnieli founded and heads the Institute of Legal Arts at the Faculty of Law of Tel Aviv University. During her tenure at the District Court, she rendered a number of important judgments in the fields of commercial law, class actions, and tort law. She has published two books: Law of Immunity and Immunity of Public Figures. Dr. Avnieli lectured on the subject of Alternate Dispute Resolution at Tel Aviv University.
Judge Avnieli is also an arbitrator and mediator in arbitrations and mediations conducted in the English language.

Between 2009 and 2017, she served as a Judge of the Tel Aviv District Court
